Last Tuesday, November 5, the processing lines at the RIOblanco facility in Graneros started up to begin selecting, packing, and exporting the first cherries of the 2024/2025 season.

Jaime Prieto, RIOblanco’s Commercial Deputy Manager, said, “We are very excited about this new season, where at the industry we expect to export more than 130 million boxes, and we, as RIOblanco, plan to double the volume of last season.”

That same day, Linx Lai, CEO of Fullbloom, Joy Liu, Harrison Chuang, Purchasing Manager, and Joy Liu, Procurement Specialist, visited the plant to see first-hand how the process of the Brooks early variety began, coming from the Entre Encinas fields in the Aconcagua valley, and which have Asia and the United States as their main destination.

In this regard, Harrison Chuang, Purchasing Manager of FullBloom, said, “The sizes we are seeing are 3J, which is large, especially for the beginning of the season. We tasted the fruit, checked it, and the brix and firmness were fine, I think that everything and everyone in the packing house is super organized. So I think that both, FullBloom and RIOblanco, are ready for this season.”

Finally, Christopher Dixon, Quality Manager of RIOblanco, commented that “despite the increase in volume, we are seeing very good color and good sizes. We are working hard to have a selection process that helps us maintain the quality and condition standards that characterize us. We are very optimistic and eager to see the reception of our cherries.”
