Little Inspectors in Action: RIOblanco Brings the Fruit Experience to La Cantera School in Codegua

Codegua, April 2025 — In a lively and educational morning, the RIOblanco team visited 5th and 6th grade students at La Cantera School in Codegua, bringing the agricultural world closer to new generations through a dynamic and meaningful on-site activity.

During the visit, students became true fruit inspectors, taking part in a hands-on experience where they evaluated grape bunches based on texture, color, and sweetness. Through this activity, the children learned firsthand about the quality standards required by international markets, while gaining an appreciation for the agricultural work that makes it all possible.

As part of the visit, a healthy recess was also held, where RIOblanco offered grapes of different varieties to the entire student body—encouraging nutritious snacking and healthy habits from an early age.

“It was a beautiful experience. Seeing the kids so engaged and excited to learn about what we do with such care is truly energizing,” said Marcela Vargas, plant manager in Graneros. “More than showing them the fruit, we opened a window to a world that many had never seen before. Watching their faces light up as they tasted the grapes and learned to examine them with new eyes reminded us why our work matters. Experiences like this strengthen our ties with the community and connect us with the human purpose behind our mission.”

From the school community, Principal Luis González praised the activity as a real bridge between the school and its local context: “These kinds of experiences spark curiosity and help students envision new paths for their future.”

A unique morning where community, education, and fruit came together with a shared goal: to cultivate meaningful learning and strengthen ties with the territory
