We harvest best chilean grapes since 1979

PIONEERS OF THE VINE - ITALIAN IMMIGRATION IN ACONCAGUA

In the 19th century, the Gioia-Goggi, Porfiri-Romagnoli, Peppi-Porfiri and Nicoletti-Montalbini families came in the Transandino Railway. The heads of these families were the pioneers who opened the trail. It was the prophets, the Magi who came from behind the mountain range following the star from the East. Here was the setting for this outstanding adventure. The first "packings" next to the pasture, with the row of poplars and the murmuring ditch. Today everything has become technical. Selection and production sites for various grape varieties with modern fruit centers, supported either by international or local companies.

In 1979, the children of the founders Mariano Peppi and Albino Porfiri: Luis Peppi, Raimundo and Basilio Porfiri Romagnoli; Together with their friends, Aurelio San Nicolás Rosique and Romano Cabrini Oddi, decide to form a company and build a grape packing and cold warehouse to have a common place in which to pack and store their fruit with the highest quality standards, and thus have of a significant volume of fruit to present a more attractive offer to the exporters existing on that date, among which the South American Fruit Company (Safco) stood out. They decided to call it Río Blanco, in honor of the pre-Andean tributary of the Aconcagua River, without suspecting that in less than three decades it would be one of the main references of table grapes in the world.
